Panera’s Extravagant Bread Hat For The Kentucky Derby Sold Out In Minutes

Panera has been catering to bread enthusiasts’ cravings by offering a range of merchandise, from BAGuette purses to swimwear to a Mac n’ Cheese pillow. Their latest addition, a bread hat, quickly sold out within minutes of its release on April 29.

The unique looking bread hat was created in honor of an annual springtime event where elite horses compete in a prestigious race. Yes, we’re talking about the Kentucky Derby, which is approaching this Saturday, May 4.

If you’ve ever attended, you know the atmosphere is like no other, and a must have at this event is an extravagant hat.

While not actually made out of a real Panera bread bowl, the bread hat is described as, “a 3D-printed replica of a bread bowl surrounded by colorful ostrich feathers.” Panera specifically picked green feathers to resemble their infamous broccoli and cheddar soup.

Unfortunately, if you were interested in getting your head one of these hats, you’ll have to wait around to see if Panera will make more. Those who were fortunate to snag one also received a $100 gift card. That was enough to buy at least 46 bread bowls (just the bread, nothing in it).

Keep your eye out on the Panera website to see if they restock in the coming days.
